Job Description
Wouri Digital Finance SA is seeking an experienced Chief Finance Officer to lead the organization’s financial strategy and operations. This is a senior executive role responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic guidance to support the company’s growth across its digital financial services business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes across the organization
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors
- Manage liquidity, treasury functions, and working capital to support transaction volumes and operational needs
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, central bank and licensing requirements, tax obligations, and corporate governance standards
- Work closely with compliance teams on anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime controls
- Lead cost control and unit economics analysis across products and digital channels
- Oversee risk management strategies, including financial, credit, operational, and currency/foreign exchange risk
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, investors, and other financial stakeholders
- Lead and develop the finance team, including accounting, treasury, and financial planning functions
- Evaluate and support fundraising, partnership, merger, acquisition, and investment opportunities where applicable
- Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to the board and senior leadership
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems, payment reconciliation tools, and ERP platforms

Required Profile Description
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or similar)
- Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, or payments is a strong advantage
- Strong knowledge of financial strategy, corporate finance, regulatory reporting, and risk management
- Proven track record of managing budgets, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance at a senior level
- Experience with ERP and financial management systems
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French and local languages is an advantage
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated technology environment
