Bassagal Consulting is hiring a Logistics & Procurement Officer
Operating in the telecommunications sector, Bassagal consulting is actively seeking a logistics and procurement officer to join its team. The role is located in Douala.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that accurate paperwork is processed for all international shipments (both maritime and air freight).
- Guarantee strict compliance with all regulatory entities associated with purchasing and logistics (such as customs authorities).
- Enforce thorough due diligence procedures for both prospective and current suppliers.
- Track and supervise cargos from their initial dispatch to their final delivery point.
- Supervise the cost, efficiency, and quality regarding the storage and movement of goods.
- Supply logistical assistance to the engineering teams deployed on site.
- Take part in project planning, specifically concerning budgets and costs.
- Coordinate domestic transportation to ensure the secure delivery of equipment to diverse locations.
- Assess data to check vendor outputs and formulate enhancement strategies.
- Generate and maintain monthly records regarding all shipments.
- Oversee warehouse and store operations, which includes inventory oversight, security, and reporting.
Profile required:
- Academic background: possess a three-year university degree (BSc or BAC+3 level) or a national diploma focusing on logistics and procurement, transport, or commerce.
- Specific experience: have a minimum of two years working as a logistics officer strictly within the telecoms industry (this requirement is essential).
- General experience: justify three to five years of relevant professional background in the supply chain or related sector.
- Technical knowledge: deep understanding of supply chain administration routines, purchasing processes, and shipping Incoterms.
- Core skills: excellent capacity for contract negotiation and strong influencing abilities.
- Work ethic: be a highly motivated self-starter who functions well both independently and collaboratively.
- Character traits: display exceptional moral standards, high integrity, and strong ethical values.
