About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy and financial controls. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of accounting principles related to Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, and Record to Report processes. This role combines operational accounting tasks with financial control responsibilities, including managing accounts receivable and payable, supervising bookkeeping processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Experience with QuickBooks, monthly account reconciliations, and financial reporting is essential. The role also requires proficiency with MS Office . The desired candidate should be a critical thinker who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, has the desire to learn and grow, prioritize multiple tasks, and possess superior communication skills.
Responsibilities will include:
Financial Controls & Supervision:
Supervise bookkeeping and data entry processes
Ensure that general ledger accounts are properly maintained, reconciled, and discrepancies are promptly addressed
Identify and report control issues including undefined balances, inventory losses, un-posted entries, and balance sheet imbalances
Supervise all accounts receivable, accounts payable and cashier tasks
Monitor customer inquiries, resolve billing issues, and track farmer and other payments
Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates to direct supervisor
Monitor and update fixed asset register
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Review monthly reconciliations of all payment accounts (bank, mobile money, and cash) by the 5th of each month.
Reconcile all receivable and payable accounts monthly.
Prepare and submit monthly tax declarations (payroll and revenue) and CNPS declarations
Prepare and submit tax declarations (payroll and revenue) and CNPS filings
Assist in preparing annual financial statements (STR) in compliance with OHADA standards
Verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and proper authorization
Support the Head of Finance in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:
Update the daily task sheet and weekly task report. Submit the weekly task report every Monday for all tasks completed in the previous week.
Conduct weekly production inventory counts every Friday, covering the warehouse and BooWee production unit. Submit a signed inventory count report
Perform a full inventory count across all warehouses by the 8th of each month. Submit signed inventory count documents with all relevant parties.
Enter farmer invoices into QBO each season. Ensure all deliverable sheets are signed
Post invoices for Maize and BooWee sales and receive payments in QBO daily.
Every Friday, verify that the AP accountant has correctly entered all weekly transactions for cash on hand, mobile money, Orange Money, Tomcards, and GAAD corporate accounts in QBO.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, or business administration;
2-4 years of prior experience in a related field;
Proficient in QuickBooks and having a good mastery of Microsoft 365
Excellent organizational skills and extremely detail-oriented;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently and effectively;
A high degree of integrity; dealing with sensitive information with discretion;
Fluency in English and French
