JOB ADVERT: PROJECT DRIVER
The Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, a leading Faith-Based Health Organization committed to providing quality healthcare and community development services across Cameroon, is requesting applications from qualified, committed and dedicated individuals to serve as Project Driver, on a two-year multi-annual project titled “Joint Action for Stabilization, Inclusion, and Resilience in Border Communities of Northern Cameroon (JASIR)”, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
TERMS AND DURATION Contractual and full-time Duration : 2 Years (Fixed-term contract) Duty Station : Far North Region, Cameroon Salary : Negotiable
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education : Minimum of FSLC/CEP (or equivalent) Valid Cameroon Driver’s License (Category D) A defensive driving certificate from an accredited institution is an advantage Basic mechanical training certificate is an advantage
Professional Experience : Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience, with at least 2 years working for an NGO, UN agency, humanitarian organization, or international project Proven experience driving in Far North Region, including on unpaved roads, sandy terrain, muddy road, and in insecure areas is mandatory Experience driving 4×4 vehicles (Toyota Land Cruiser, Hilux, or similar) in difficult off-road conditions Experience with convoy driving and security protocols for humanitarian field missions
Technical Skills : Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs Proficiency in using satellite phones and GPS devices Basic first aid training (certificate preferred) Ability to see clearly (good vision)
Languages : Working proficiency in English and French (spoken) is an asset (ability to understand basic instructions, read road signs, communicate at checkpoints) Ability to read and write simple reports (vehicle logbooks, incident reports) in English or French is mandatory Fluency in Fulfulde or local dialects is a strong advantage for community interactions
