JOB ADVERT: PROJECT LIVELIHOODS & AGRO-BUSINESS OFFICER

The Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, a leading Faith-Based Health Organization committed to providing quality healthcare and community development services across Cameroon, is requesting applications from qualified, committed and dedicated individuals to serve as Project Livelihoods & Agro-Business Officer, on a two-year multi-annual project titled “Joint Action for Stabilization, Inclusion, and Resilience in Border Communities of Northern Cameroon (JASIR)”, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

 

TERMS AND DURATION Contractual and full-time Duration : 2 Years (Fixed-term contract) Duty Station : Far North Region, Cameroon Salary : Negotiable

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agri-Business, Development Studies, or a related field Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage Professional certifications in value chain development, farmer field schools, or VSLA methodology are desirable

Professional Experience : Minimum 4 years of field experience implementing livelihoods, agricultural recovery, or agri-business projects, preferably with an NGO, UN agency, or development organization in remote or fragile contexts Demonstrated experience working in the Far North Region (border areas with Chad and Nigeria) is mandatory Proven experience working with farming cooperatives, women’s groups, and youth livelihood initiatives Proven experience in implementing anticipatory actions is an advantage

Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of climate-resilient agriculture, dryland farming, and small-scale irrigation techniques Proficiency in participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools and community-based monitoring Data collection and analysis skills (Excel, KoboToolbox, or similar) Good financial literacy and business planning skills Knowledge of anticipatory actions is a strong advantage

Languages : Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) is mandatory Working knowledge of Fulfulde and/or local dialects is a strong advantage
