Position: HR Support Intern
Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon
Employment Type: Internship
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented HR Support Intern to support the Human Resources department in day-to-day HR operations, employee administration, statutory compliance, and record management. The intern will play a key role in maintaining accurate HR documentation, supporting payroll-related compliance activities, and ensuring efficient employee record management while gaining practical exposure to HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Employee Records
- Collect, verify, and maintain employee attendance, leave, overtime, and absence records.
- Update and maintain employee personnel files and HR databases.
- Prepare employment-related documents, including work attestations and employment certificates.
- Organize and maintain both physical and electronic HR filing systems.
- Conduct periodic audits of employee files to ensure completeness and compliance.
Statutory Compliance & Payroll Support
- Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory declarations, including:
- Support insurance administration by maintaining employee insurance records and assisting with claims processing.
- Ensure HR records comply with company policies and Cameroonian labour regulations.
Employee Lifecycle Support
- Support employee onboarding by collecting required documentation and preparing welcome packages.
- Coordinate employee exit procedures, including:
- Scheduling exit interviews
- Preparing clearance documents
- Coordinating the return of company assets
- Updating employee records
HR Reporting & Data Management
- Prepare monthly HR reports, including:
- Headcount
- Employee turnover
- Absenteeism
- Leave statistics
- Develop and maintain Excel dashboards for HR reporting and workforce analysis.
- Perform HR data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Employee Support
- Respond professionally to employee HR-related inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to the HR department as assigned.
Recruitment Exposure
- Gain basic observational exposure to recruitment activities, including:
- Reviewing applications
- Interview coordination
- Recruitment documentation
- Support recruitment activities when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree, HND, BTS, or Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Human Resource Management
- Business Administration
- Accounting
- Finance
- Management
- Economics
- Or any related discipline.
Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced proficiency preferred)
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to prepare HR reports and dashboards using Excel.
- Familiarity with HR databases is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following will have an added advantage:
- Basic knowledge of Cameroonian Labour Law.
- Basic understanding of CNPS procedures and statutory compliance.
- Previous internship or practical experience in:
- Human Resources
- Accounting
- Finance
- Administration
- Experience working with confidential documents.
