Monitoring Agents for the experiment on mycorrhizae and cover crops
(Arachis pintoi) in the Mintom municipality, TRIDOM.

We are looking for two (02) temporary agents to monitor the experiment on mycorrhizae and
cover crops (Arachis pintoi) in the municipality of Mintom, TRIDOM.
1. Context and justification
In the TRIDOM area, cocoa farming is both an economic opportunity and a threat to the forests.
Aging plantations and the gradual decline in soil fertility on existing plots weaken farmers'
incomes. In this situation, many cocoa farmers turn to clearing new plots in the forest, hoping
to boost yields, which increases pressure on forest ecosystems and biodiversity.
The Cocoa Canopy Phase 2 project aims to show that it is possible to increase yields without
deforestation, thanks to the use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and cover crops like
Arachis pintoi. These solutions improve soil fertility, reduce weeds, and strengthen farm
resilience. To ensure careful monitoring of the experiments and the collection of relevant data,
two positions are open for young people in Mintom.
2. Mission Details
 Carry out regular surveys on the experimental plots (soil, plant growth, vegetation
cover).
 Collect, record, and check data according to established protocols.
 Take part in setting up treatments (applying mycorrhiza, sowing Arachis pintoi (wild
peanut)).
 Ensure plant health maintenance and monitor the plots during the trial period.
 Help share good agroecological practices with the farmers.
3. Execution time and workplace
 Contract duration: 10 months
 Work location: Experimental plots on mycorrhizae and cover crops, Mintom

5. Required qualifications
 Have good physical fitness.
 Be able to read and write in French or English.
 Practical knowledge of the steps to maintain a cocoa plot.
 Motivation to work in a conservation and agroecology project.
 Live in the municipality of Mintom.
