Position Summary
The Dean of Students is the primary authority responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and disciplined campus environment. This role ensures strict adherence to school policies regarding attendance, punctuality, uniform, and behavior. By actively supervising students from the moment campus opens until the last student departs, this position establishes a culture of accountability and respect.
Key Responsibilities
Campus Opening & Arrival Operations:
Arrive by 6:30 AM to secure the campus perimeter and prepare for student arrival.
Actively monitor the entrance to enforce the school's punctuality policy; process late arrivals and issue appropriate disciplinary actions or warnings.
Enforce dress code and uniform compliance before students enter classrooms.
Behavioral Management & Discipline:
Act as the primary disciplinarian for the campus, addressing behavioral infractions, insubordination, and conflicts immediately.
Investigate incidents, document disciplinary actions, and communicate directly with parents/guardians regarding student behavior.
Maintain detailed behavioral logs and report recurring issues to the School Director.
Active Campus Supervision:
Conduct continuous patrols of hallways, cafeterias, courtyards, and restrooms during class transitions, recess, and lunch periods to prevent loitering and misconduct.
Ensure students are in their designated classes and not wandering the campus.
Dismissal & Campus Closure:
Supervise the afternoon dismissal process to ensure an orderly, safe exit for all students.
Remain on campus until 6:30 PM to ensure all students have been picked up or have safely departed the premises.
Perform a final sweep of the grounds before locking down facilities.
Work Schedule & Shift Breakdown
Morning Shift: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM (Arrival and morning supervision)
Mid-Day Break: 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM (4-hour off-duty break)
Afternoon/Evening Shift: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM (Dismissal and campus closure)
Note: Total active working hours equal 8 hours per day.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Proven background in education administration, campus security, military, law enforcement, or youth behavioral management.
Key Competencies:
Highly authoritative yet fair presence; ability to command respect from students.
Excellent conflict de-escalation and crisis management skills.
Exceptional punctuality, physical stamina, and reliability.
Clear, firm communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents.
