Job Title: Commercial & Marketing Team Lead
Department: Business Development / Commercial Operations
Reports To: General Manager/Deputy General Manager
Location: Douala, Cameroon
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
The Commercial & Marketing Team Lead will drive the commercial growth, members acquisition, and brand
presence of PECCU COOP BOD (MFI). This role combines strategic marketing, sales leadership, product
promotion, and field team management to expand our portfolio of SMEs, and savings clients while ensuring
responsible and sustainable lending practices.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Commercial & Sales Leadership
● Portfolio & Membership Growth: Set, track, and achieve aggressive targets for client acquisition,
deposit/savings mobilization and loan portfolio growth.
● Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Direct Sales Agents, Customer Service,
Marketing Executives, and Loan /Accounts Relationship Officers.
● Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement field-based sales strategies, branch outreach
campaigns, and channel distribution models (e.g., agency banking, mobile banking).
● Pipeline Management: Monitor sales pipelines, conversion rates, and members retention strategies
to maximize customer lifetime value.
2. Strategic Marketing & Brand Management
● Campaign Execution: Plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns (below-the-line field
activations, digital marketing, radio, community roadshows, and printed collateral).
● Market Research & Intelligence: Conduct market assessments, competitor analysis, and members
feedback surveys to identify underserved market segments and new product opportunities.
● Brand Visibility: Maintain PECCU brand consistency, digital channels, promotional materials, and
community engagement events.
● CSR & Community Relations: Lead community outreach initiatives to build trust and increase brand
awareness among SMEs and local business associations.
3. Product Development & Promotion
● Work closely with the Operations, Credit, teams to refine PECCU COOP-BOD existing products
(individual loans, Savings Mobilization, Term Deposit, SME financing, mobile money integration).
● Design targeted promotional strategies for specific client segments (women entrepreneurs, youth, Oil

and Gaz SME).
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Monitoring
● Collaborate with the Credit & Risk Department to ensure commercial growth aligns with portfolio
quality standards and low Portfolio at Risk (PAR) targets.
● Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the DSA and conduct regular performance reviews.
● Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly commercial performance and market intelligence reports for
the General Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a
related field. (A Master's degree or professional marketing certification like CIM is a plus).
● Experience:
○ 4–6+ years of experience in commercial sales, marketing, or business development within the
Microfinance (MFI), Banking, or Fintech sectors.
○ Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or team supervisory role.
● Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of microfinance operations & principles, financial inclusion
strategies, lending dynamics, and MFI regulatory environments within CEMAC.
Key Competencies & Skills
● Leadership & Coaching: Ability to motivate, manage, and drive performance across field-based
commercial teams.
● Commercial Acumen: Strong track record in sales execution, lead generation, and business growth
strategy.
● Field & Digital Marketing: Experience in both grassroots ground marketing (roadshows, community
meetings) and digital/social media campaigns.
● Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in English and
French.
● Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing sales data, market trends, and campaign effectiveness
using Excel, CRM tools, or BI dashboards.
