1. Background
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among at-risk populations, while strengthening global health security, expanding tuberculosis detection and treatment, improving maternal and child health, addressing malaria, and promoting health systems strengthening.

In Cameroon, the EpiC project supports the continuation and expansion of life-saving HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services. The program prioritises community-led approaches integrated with facility-based systems to increase access to quality HIV-related services and close gaps in HIV case finding (first 95), while maintaining progress toward the second and third 95 of the UNAIDS targets.

Family World International (FAWOI) is a non-profit civil society organisation committed to fostering autonomous and sustainable communities through capacity building, skills development, and strategic partnerships. FAWOI operates across Health, Education, Protection, Economic Empowerment, and Development thematic areas, with a strong emphasis on family, women and girls’ wellbeing.

FAWOI is implementing the FHI360-led EpiC Cameroon project in the Southwest Region, covering the health districts of Muyuka, Kumba North, Mamfe, Tombel, Bangem and Konye.

2. Finance Admin Assistant Position Summary
FAWOI is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Finance and Administrative Assistant to support accounting, financial, and administrative functions under the EpiC Cameroon project. The Finance and Administrative Assistant will report to the Finance and Operations Officer and coordinate closely with the Project Coordinator to perform accounting, financial, and administrative duties for the EpiC Cameroon project. S/he will work with funding sources from the U.S. Government and support the audit function to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations.

3. Key Responsibilities
The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the following:

Financial

Establishes and manages accounting record-keeping systems and procedures for tracking and reporting.
Manages EpiC project expenditures, including daily payment documentation, ensuring all disbursements are duly approved in accordance with FHI 360 systems and procedures.
Supports the Finance Officer in preparing financial reports and ensures that all transactions are fully and properly documented.
Verifies advance requests, travel expense reports, and operational expenses for accuracy and completeness, and confirms that expense reports are approved in accordance with FHI 360 systems and procedures before submission for payment.
Compiles and validates supporting documentation before processing financial transactions, ensuring all required documents are accurate, complete, and properly authorised.
Reconciles budget lines and accounts on a monthly basis, working with the Finance Officer to identify and correct variances promptly.
Administrative

Receives and distributes incoming mail and coordinates outgoing mail, including courier services and interoffice mail distribution.
Schedules meetings and coordinates meeting arrangements between partners and the organisation.
Assists with the preparation of materials for meetings and conferences and provides meeting support as needed (e.g., scheduling conference rooms, coordinating food and logistics).
Prepares and maintains documentation, plans, reports, schedules, databases, spreadsheets, and logs to support project functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
4. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or administrative roles, preferably with an NGO or USG-funded project.

Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
Familiarity with Cameroon tax systems, financial systems, procedures, and compliance requirements is an advantage.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in handling financial and administrative information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency in office technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and filing systems.
