Overview of the role
CHAI Cameroon is hiring an experienced epidemiologist to run the Post-Campaign Coverage Survey (PCCS) from start to finish. The job covers every stage: protocol and approvals, sampling, training field teams, data collection, analysis and reporting. The Epidemiologist reports to the MCH Program Manager and works with the EPI, the Ministry of Public Health, INS, partners and contractors. Project management is the core of the role, which means planning the work, tracking progress and spending, managing risks and keeping the survey on time and on budget. The contract is for three months and can be renewed if the agreed deliverables are met.
Key deliverables for the initial contract period
- An inception note and integrated survey workplan covering all workstreams, with timeline, responsibilities, budget tracking, and a risk and mitigation log, within the first two weeks.
- A final survey protocol, including sampling design, sample size calculation, indicators, questionnaires, and analysis plan, validated by EPI and partners and submitted for ethical clearance and administrative authorization.
- Tested electronic data collection tools, a field manual, supervision tools, and training materials, together with a trained team of supervisors and enumerators.
- Fieldwork completed according to protocol, supported by supervision reports, a data quality monitoring dashboard, and documented corrective actions.
- A cleaned, documented, and weighted dataset with preliminary results presented to EPI and partners.
- A draft survey report with key findings and actionable recommendations, and dissemination materials for validation by stakeholders.
