OPPORTUNITY : Project Manager for a Musical Lounge Restaurant Background and Objective of the Call for Applications Lounge Life Douala aims to launch an innovative musical lounge restaurant in the Douala 5ᵉ district (Bonamoussadi), a venue celebrating live Cameroonian music (makossa, afrobeat, bikutsi) and a fusion of local and international cuisine. With a capacity of 100 seats, this space aspires to become a culinary and cultural landmark in Douala. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the project from A to Z, in a local context marked by logistical challenges (supply chains, energy) and strong competition in the entertainment sector. Key objectives include: Structuring the project with a detailed roadmap. Coordinating service providers (architects, sound engineers, decorators, suppliers). Developing a unique musical concept and programming local artists. Managing a budget estimated between 50–100 million FCFA. Building a network of partners (sponsors, media, DJs, labels). Overseeing and securing the required licenses and authorizations. Desired Profile Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Hospitality, Event Planning, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years in the nightlife or hospitality sector). At least 3 years’ experience opening or managing a restaurant, bar, lounge, or club, ideally in Cameroon or elsewhere in Africa. Technical Skills Project management tools (e.g., Excel, Trello). Knowledge of hygiene (HACCP) and safety (ERP) standards. Expertise in artist booking and music programming. Ability to optimize costs and manage unpredictabilities (power outages, delays). Administrative experience in securing operational licenses. Soft Skills Leadership, excellent communication, and negotiation skills. Strong network in Douala’s music and nightlife industry (DJs, artists, sponsors). Creative mindset to propose a differentiated and attractive concept.
