JOB ADVERT : LOUNGE / RESTAURANT SERVER Location: Douala, Cameroon Industry: Hospitality sector Key Responsibilities: 1. Preparation and Mise en Place: Ensure the restaurant/lounge is fully prepared before service, including cleaning floors and bathroom, setting up tables, polishing glassware, and organizing workstations. Stock and replenish service items such as napkins, cutlery, and condiments. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow. 2. Service: Welcome and seat guests, presenting menus and making recommendations. Take and serve food and drink orders promptly and accurately. Ensure guests have an exceptional dining experience by being attentive and accommodating special requests. Process bills and payments efficiently. 3. Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the service area throughout the shift. Clear and reset tables promptly. Follow cleaning schedules for all equipment and spaces within the restaurant/lounge. 4. Client Satisfaction: Address and resolve guest complaints or escalate them to management when necessary. Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat visits. 5. Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery. Assist team members during busy periods and contribute to a positive work environment. Requirements: Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. (3 – 5 years) Education: Background in hospitality management or related training is advantageous. Skills: Strong communication skills in (Must speak French, addition of English is preferred) Ability to multitask and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional teamwork and collaboration abilities. Professionalism: Neat and presentable appearance at all times. Punctuality and reliability are essential. Friendly and courteous demeanor with a focus on client satisfaction.
